Every year in August, Vancouver host a fire works competition called the Celebration of Light. The Canadian College is proud to bring over a hundred students every year to the end of Denman St to view the spectacular light demonstration. Since seating is limited we usually go early and spend a few hours talking, singing songs, and watching the sunset with hundreds of thousands of other eager fans. |

Location
English Bay has become the perfect location for the show with a variety of locations on the beaches around Stanley Park and Kitsilano. Other locations are Park, Jericho Beach , and West Vancouver . The event is free to watch from public parks and beaches. The competition involves three different countries all competing on separate nights and is judged on many levels of there presentation. The fourth night is a finale where all three countries contribute to one show. It is a very entertaining night, so don't miss out!
Crowds
There are hundreds of thousands of people at English Bay and a total of 1.2 million watching. Be sure to stay close to your friends and use the side roads to avoid the large crowds. There are hundreds of extra buses running to the residential areas so getting home is never a problem.
