| The Vancouver art gallery is located between robson and georgia street, the cross street is Burrard. It is situated in the heart of Downtown Vancouver and easy to spot. It is only a 10 min walk from the CCEL. We have planned trips in the summer and winter time with teachers. They trips are planned usually for a Thursday right after classes at 4:00. |

Most recently the Gallery has acquired more than sixty works by sixteen internationally acclaimed artists, valued at $3.5 million (CAN). The Vancouver Art Gallery now has one of the most comprehensive photo-based collections in North America, including work by international artists such as Rineke Dijkstra, Andreas Gursky, Cindy Sherman and Thomas Struth.
Over the past decade, as Vancouver has become a major centre for contemporary visual art, the Gallery has built a strong collection of photo conceptual work by Stan Douglas, Jeff Wall, Ian Wallace and other artists; a complete archive of posters by the American conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner; and a collection of prints by the American expressionist Leon Golub and the artist Nancy Spero. |
