My stay in Canada was great! It was a really good experience. And Lane was very nice, giving me information and helping me with whatever I needed.
I stayed at the student residence, which was very well located (I used to go walking to the Canadian College in less then 10 min) and the heater made the place very comfortable and cozy. When it was about half of February, almost every room of the student residence was occupied by students of many different countries, like France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Libya, Japan, Korea… I was impressed with the quantity of Asian people that were there: people from Japan, Thailand, Korea, and China, sometimes it even felt like I was in Asia hehe.
I liked very much the English course. There were grammar classes in the morning and we could choose the subject of the afternoon classes, which were focused in conversation – pronunciation and understanding of the English language in general. As I didn’t really know what to choose when I got there, I was put in a “Speaking in Public” class. I studied how to speak in public, give speeches, use the right tone of voice and give emphasis to the sentences. At the end I liked the choice, the teacher was great and the classes were very interesting.
It was an excellent English course, no to mention a great cultural trip and an awesome life experience, since the daily contact with the Canadian winter until with its means of transportation, food, and their way of thinking and doing things. Canadians are very polite.
I got to Vancouver thinking that one month could be too much time, but I soon noticed that time goes by very fast. There were so many things to do that I realized that I’d need to go back there if I wanted to do everything! There are many places to visit, as the Stanley Park, O Lynn Canyon Park, or even commercial streets and city sites, as Gastown, Chinatown, English Bay, besides the ski resorts and many other places.
Thank you very much for the opportunity.
Best wishes,
Mario Sturlini
