Welcome to Vancouver, Canada!!

I would like to introduce our family - my name is Orsolina Rabasco and my husband's name is Alfredo Garza. We also have an adorable cat named Kiko. I hope that your stay in Canada will be a pleasant one and please feel free to ask us any questions or talk to us about any concerns you have. Let me tell you a little about ourselves...I am an English teacher in your school (believe it or not!) and I have been teaching English since 1992. I graduated in 1992 majoring in Italian and I also have my teaching ertificate from there. My family is very diverse. My father is from Italy, but my mother's family is Danish and Polish. I lived in Mexico for over two years teaching English. I know what it feels like to live in a foreign country.

My husband graduated with a bacelaureate in accounting and also has a Bachelor's degree in music composition. He is originally from Mexico and moved to Vancouver in 2000. He also knows what it's like to be in a new country. Alfredo's pastimes include cooking, composing music, playing playstation 2, computer games, cycling, jogging, and playing soccer. My pastimes include yoga, jogging and going around Vancouver on the weekends! We live in New Market (Vancouver), however we are 2 blocks from the bus stop, which will take you downtown in 22 minutes. We live in a suburb which is quite quiet, but close to parks, recreation centres, shopping, etc.
