Canadian College of English Language students can transfer to several internationally recognized colleges and universities through the EAP pathway. Including: Canadian College, University of Alberta, Emily Carr, University of Lethbridge, New Image College, Thompson Rivers University...
There are two full time employment placement staff on the 4th floor to assist students in finding paid co-op's.
Computer Labs & Wireless
The Campus has high speed wireless internet free of charge and two computer labs with 30+ computers for students to use before and after class.
Student Residence
Many students choose to live in our student residence/apartments because it's a 5 minute walk to the Canadian College of English Language and it is a great place to meet other students from around the world.
Students staying in our residence have an included meal plan on campus at eh! Restaurant. This includes breakfast and a hot or cold lunch from Monday to Friday. (Residence students must pre-pay 3+ months to receive free lunches.)
The Canadian College has 15 staff + 25-30 teachers (some of the languages covered: Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Polish, Russian, German, Turkish, etc)
The full time activities coordinator has spent 12 years organizing activities for international audiences. Each week there is a tourism, sport, and educational activity. Also there is a free activity, one that is under $10, and some that cost more money.
SMRT is a fully digital, web-based curriculum created solely by our instructors for our students, it is a powerful learning tool and communication medium, drawing from such resources as YouTube, TED, Wikipedia, Blogs, and Google Apps.
As students return to their home country, the combination of a Western diploma and co-op is not only a competitive advantage, but allows students the opportunity to understand and experience the cultural and business nuances that can only be gained from hands-on experience.
The Canadian College staff are continuously coming up with new ideas on how to make the classroom more environmentally friendly.
Recently we have tested using ebooks rather than textbooks in an effort to reduce paper.
