We are extremely proud of our CCEL Live virtual classes, the positive response we have received from students, and the ability of our instructors to not only meet this unprecedented challenge, but to excel and continue to deliver top-quality language training. Current students will be contacted with more information.

Update on March 26

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all safe, healthy, and settling into your virtual classes.

When CCEL first announced our decision to temporarily suspend in-person classes and to deliver courses virtually, the initial dates were from March 16 to March 27. The situation with COVID 19 is developing by the day; as a result, it will be necessary for the College to adjust and adapt as the situation unfolds and information becomes available.

British Columbia is in a state of emergency, and this is unlikely to change very soon. Therefore, this is to officially announce that CCEL will continue with our suspension of in-person classes, and with our delivery of virtual classes through Zoom, until further notice, when the Provincial Health Authority no longer considers it necessary.

I would like to thank our instructors and our student services department for taking on this unprecedented challenge without hesitation. It has been inspiring to see.

I would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Please take care of yourselves and continue to comply with the laws regarding safe social distancing, for your own health and safety as well as that of your community.

Thank you very much and enjoy your classes!

Update on March 23

Transition to virtual classes - CCEL Live!

Our team here at CCEL has been working incredibly hard to deliver high-quality virtual classes - CCEL Live. It has been very successful considering the unprecedented situation we are all in. We also thank all students very much for working together to make it successful and fun!

New bookings

We are continuing to accept new bookings for CCEL programs but recommend start dates from Monday, July 6 onward. Students are welcome to start our English course at any time in CCEL Live Format. Further information about CCEL Live will follow shortly so stay tuned!

Postponement and shortening

For students who unfortunately had to postpone or shorten their course, CCEL will hold unused weeks of tuition for up to 24 months.

Update on March 17

Current students

In light of growing concerns over COVID-19 and in response to Canadian government guidelines, CCEL and Canadian College have transitioned to live online lessons as of today and asked all students and staff members to stay home. It has been a smooth transition and we very much appreciate students for their understanding and cooperation and also for all teachers' tireless effort.

New bookings

We are continuing to accept new bookings but recommend start dates from Monday, May 04 onward.

Postponements

Canada’s Prime Minister has announced that Canada is closing its borders to all foreign travellers to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which means new students will not be able to arrive in Vancouver until further notice.

All future students, regardless of course start date, are welcome to postpone courses without incurring any penalty charges. In the meantime, students are welcome to take our assessment test and join a class online until borders reopen and it is possible for them to safely travel.

Update on March 16

Attention: Worldwide CCEL Agents

I, Lane Clark President of CCEL and Canadian College, am writing to update everyone regarding the recent decisions at CCEL and Canadian College in response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. Currently, all Canadians have been asked by the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, to stay at home to avoid the spread of the virus and flatten the curve to allow our healthcare system to stay ahead.

The management team and I took the necessary decision to close the campuses today, March 16th, and move to an online delivery program. Our instructors are dedicated to the task of delivering our program virtually and are eager to begin classes tomorrow March 17th.

We would like to encourage agents to stay positive and help us support students and their family members. BC is a safe place for students to wait out this unfortunate situation.

If you require our assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. We are all still working regular hours from home and are available. There will be a time in the future when this is behind us, our relationship with you is our priority and you can count us to support you through this unfortunate situation.

Update on March 13

Dear Students,

In accordance with the recommendation of the BC Provincial Health Authority, we are urging students who arrive in Canada from March 13 onwards to self-isolate for 14 days before beginning their studies. This is precautionary action in an effort to help slow and prevent the spread of COVID-19. We want to minimize the disruption to studies; however, the health and safety of our students and staff is our priority and we recognize the need for preventive measures.

In an effort to minimize disruption, we are prepared to offer online classes for students who are in self-isolation or too ill to attend, starting Tuesday, March 17. Students who self-isolate for 14 days are also welcome to extend their studies for two weeks without additional charge, if possible.

These are exceptional circumstances and we make these decisions with our students’ best interest at heart.

We thank you for your understanding

Sincerely,

Lane Clark
